Figure 1.1 shows the four stages of modelling. Stage 1, "data input", includes meteorological conditions, background air quality, source data, topography & receptor requirements. Stage 2, "data processing", is the atmospheric dispersion modelling. Stage 3, "data output", is the downwind concentrations predicted by the model and stage 4, "data analysis", is the assessment of environmental effects.
