Appendix 1: Assessment Checklist

To assist the process of identifying the level of assessment required for any proposed discharge to air, a simple checklist has been provided below. This should be completed as far as possible by the applicant before the recommended pre-application meeting with the consent authority. The consenting authority should be able to help complete any outstanding aspects, such as consenting requirement.

The checklist requires consideration of, and information gathering for, each of the factors that influence the level of assessment required. The aim of the checklist is to facilitate discussion and decisions at the pre-application meeting regarding the appropriate level of assessment.
