Text description of figure

The chart measures the maximum 8-hour average CO, and the days that CO exceeded the 8 hour guideline at Packe St, Christchurch, from 1998 to 2001. The maximum 8-hour average increased from 1988 to 1990, and decreased significantly in the mid 1990s. The number of days CO has exceeded the 8-hour guideline more than doubled from 1988 (six days) to 1992 (17 days), but has decreased since, oscillating between five and 12 days.
