Text description of figure

There are six charts showing 24-hour concentrations of PM10 concentrations in the Wellington region.

The first chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured in Lower Hutt in 1998. Most (nearly 80 per cent) of the concentrations were in the 'good' category, with the remaining concentrations in the 'acceptable' category.

The second chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured at Government House, Wellington. Nearly 90 per cent of concentrations were in the 'good' category.

The third chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured at Upper Hutt in 2000 and 2001. About 80 per cent of concentrations were in the 'good' category, while 2-5 per cent were in the 'alert' category.

The fourth chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured at Otaki in 1999. Just under 60 per cent of concentrations were in the 'good' category, just over 30 per cent were in the 'acceptable' category, and just under 10 per cent were in the 'alert' category.

The fifth chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured at Wainuiomata in 2001. Nearly 90 per cent of concentrations were the good category, with 3 per cent each in the the 'acceptable and 'alert' guidelines, and 3 per cent over the guideline.

The final chart shows concentrations of PM10 measured at Masterton in 1999. Just over 70 per cent of measurements were in the 'good' category, 10 per cent in the 'acceptable' category, just over 10 per cent in the 'alert' category, and just under 5 were over the guideline.
