There is a chart showing the seven-day average concentrations of TSP measured in Hamilton from 1983 to 2001. From 1983 to 1987 concentrations periodically experienced strong spiked, from low shelf of 20µg m^-3 to up to 160µg m^-3. From the late 1980s these spikes decreased in severity, the overall level of concentrations diminished slightly during the 1990s.
