Text description of figure

There is a graph comparing average 24-hour concentrations of PM10 at Ashburton between 1998 and 2000, at Rangiora between 1999 and 2000, and at Kaiapoi in 2001.

In Ashburton concentrations remained relative stable, with nearly all measurements being 'acceptable' or 'good', and only a small proportion (just over ten per cent) in the 'alert' category.

In Rangiora concentrations were mostly 'good' (over 60 per cent), with less than 10 per cent of concentrations in the 'alert' category. There was little difference in concentrations measured over the two year period.

In Kaiapoi most concentrations were 'good' or 'acceptable', with about 10 per cent of concentrations in the 'alert' category, with 10 per cent over the guideline.
