Process and scope

The process we have followed has been adapted from two internationally recognised standards: the AccountAbility AA1000 process standard (www.accountability.org.uk) and the Global Reporting Initiative 2002 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (www.globalreporting.org). This report covers our performance for the year ended 30 June 2002 (the reporting period). The geographical scope of the report includes our Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland offices.

We have chosen to focus initially on the ‘internal’ operational impacts of the Ministry’s office activities. This is because work on assessing the links between our outputs and environmental outcomes for our first Statement of Intent is scheduled for 2002/03.
