Fiordland Marine Guardians release annual report
The Fiordland Marine Guardians recently released their 2009 annual report, which summarises the Guardians’ activities over the past year.
One of the highlights for the Guardians has been the successful production of the user guide, Beneath the Reflections: A User’s Guide to the Fiordland (Te Moana o Atawhenua) Marine Area. Other highlights from the year include the Fiordland Marine Biosecurity Risk Management Operational Plan, a decision to mark marine reserves with traditional Māori pou pou, and results from the underwater china shop and deep reef surveys.
