Output Class: Environmental Assistance to the Pacific Islands

Through this output class, the Minister purchased the service towards the environmental clean-up of contaminated sites in the Cook Islands.

Output: Work with the waste sector on an Overseas Development Assisted Programme to assist in the removal of unwanted scrap metal from the Cook Islands.

Performance Measure 2007/08 Performance
Remove 2,500 tonnes of scrap metal from the Cook Islands through an Overseas Development Assisted Programme by June 2008. Partially achieved – To date, 1,685 tonnes of scrap metal have been removed from the Cook Islands. An expense transfer to 2008/09 has been agreed in order to complete the project objectives.
