Fees and charges to increase with GST

20 September 2010

The purpose of this notice is to give you advanced warning of an increase in our fees and charges from 1 October 2010.  The increase is due to the change in the GST rate which will increase from 12.5 percent to 15 percent on 1 October 2010.

The increase will apply to the categories of fees and charges listed below.  Please note that the new charges may differ to those stipulated under the relevant regulations.  Under Section 78 of the GST Act 1985, a fee, charge or other amount set by Act or regulation will be deemed to increase automatically when the rate of GST increases.    The relevant regulations will be updated in due course.

The new fees and charges are listed in the table below and have been rounded down to the nearest ten cents.

Please contact Aaron Crookston, Manager, Business and Finance (04 439 7629) if you have any questions about these increases.
