Hearing of proposed Hurunui Water Conservation Order - Amendments to directions on pre-circulation of expert evidence

In response to an application by Amuri Irrigation Company, the Special Tribunal appointed to consider the proposed Hurunui Water Conservation Order amends its previous directions on the pre-circulation of expert evidence.

The due date for expert evidence in Opposition is now 23 March 2009.

Any evidence in rebuttal to evidence presented in opposition is to be presented at the hearing and, to the extent practical; the rebuttal evidence will be heard during the presentation of the case of the party calling the rebuttal evidence.

The Special Tribunal is willing to receive at the hearing additional evidence from expert witnesses who have provided evidence in accordance with its directions.

The Special Tribunal further notes in response to an enquiry that parties will not be given the opportunity to cross-examine witnesses.
