Equipment covered by this guidance
This guidance applies to unwanted equipment or components that can be reused and end-of-life equipment or components that are to be recycled and reprocessed/refurbished. This includes potentially hazardous WEEE and WEEE components such as monitors, printed circuit boards, and cabling. It also includes electrical and electronic consumables essential to the operation of the equipment including ink and toner cartridges and batteries.
Discs and other removable, multi-application, stand-alone accessories, not essential to the operation of the electrical and electronic equipment, are not included.
The WEEE directive categories section lists the WEEE categories covered by the European Union “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” Directive (2002/96/EC).
