Key challenges and issues
How do I measure and report on whether my Council has met its waste
management targets?
The way you write your waste management plan or strategy has huge
implications for how you review, monitor, and report on whether you're
achieving your waste management objectives and targets.
A good plan or strategy:
- should be achievable
- should have clear, tangible and measurable targets
- should show a clear linkage between policies through objectives,
through methods, through outcomes, through allocated budgets
- must contain clear linkages with other planning instruments such
as a long term council community plan (LTCCP) and annual plans.
The Quality Planning website
contains a range of best-practice examples and guidance on the RMA planning
process.
