Payments to Territorial Authorities
The levy revenue received from disposal facilities is used to fund waste minimisation activities.
Fifty per cent of levy revenue is allocated to territorial authorities on a population basis. Territorial authorities must spend the money on promoting or achieving waste minimisation in accordance with their waste management and minimisation plans.
The chart below shows the amount of levy money paid to all territorial authorities so far. Payments are made quarterly and territorial authorities have been asked to report on their levy spend on a regular basis.
