New Zealand organisations working on waste issues
Waste Management Institute of New Zealand (WasteMINZ) is a non-profit organization which promotes sustainable waste management practices for the benefit of all New Zealanders. Its primary function is to provide a forum for presentation and dissemination of information, and to act as a facilitator for the waste management industry in New Zealand.
Zero Waste New Zealand - Look out for Zero Waste's:

Environmental Choice New Zealand - New Zealand's own eco-labelling programme.
REBRI - Resource efficiency guidance for the building and related industries.
Council sites and waste exchanges
Auckland Regional Council - Good information about Auckland issues, and excellent links to other waste, pollution prevention and environmental protection sites. Also, ten things you can do to help the environment.
Christchurch City Council waste pages have good information about composting, and a great quiz.
No Throw Waste Exchange serves the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Manawatu areas

mastercomposter.com is an American site which provides useful practical information on building compost bins and how to use the compost. Soon to have a New Zealand flavour.
