Urban Design Toolkit
The Ministry for the Environment has developed an Urban Design Toolkit to support the implementation of the New Zealand Urban Design Protocol. The Urban Design Toolkit describes tools and techniques used in urban design for:
- research and analysis
- public participation
- raising awareness
- guidance and strategies
- implementation
The purpose of the Urban Design Toolkit is to illustrate the range of tools available to help create high quality urban environments. It includes a set of common terms to describe tools and processes, outlines their purpose, their application and gives references, examples and illustrations. The Urban Design Toolkit is a resource that can be used by the signatories to the Urban Design Protocol and everyone involved in urban design.
