Action plan monitoring

As part of their commitment to the New Zealand Urban Design Protocol, signatories develop action plans and report on these actions. After signing up to the Protocol signatories have 3 months to submit an action plan. Signatories are required to monitor or provide action plan information during monitoring surveys every two to three years.

An Urban Design Action Plan Review occurred in December 2005 followed by the New Zealand Urban Design Protocol Action Plan Progress Report 2006. These reports provided baseline information on the implementation of the Protocol that help develop the Ministry’s work programme.

The Taking Stock of the Urban Design Protocol and Action Plan Monitoring 2009 and Technical Report took place when the Protocol had 174 signatories and evaluated signatory action plans and carried out a wider evaluation of the Protocol programme.

A desk top monitoring (using signatory action plan information in our database) is occurring in 2010.
