The LUCAS programme was funded and approved by Government on the basis that some of the data collected by LUCAS would eventually be made freely available to the wider stakeholder community / general public.
The LUCAS programme is now in a position to do this. A range of satellite imagery, acquired over New Zealand, has been purchased under an All-of-Government licence agreement. This data is now available free of charge to government agencies. The LUCAS land use mapping data is also available to both government agencies and the general public.
This high resolution natural colour imagery of New Zealand was captured during 2008 and 2009. With a ground resolution of 2.5m, it represents the highest resolution national data set ever acquired over New Zealand.
