The figure above uses a tree to diagrammatically show the scope of the Ministry’s environmental reporting programme.

The programme produces environmental statistics and information in four main branches.

Main branches	Components of each main branch (ie, twigs, flowers, fruit and leaves)
Indicator based reporting	Input into national sustainable development reporting (Statistics NZ) State of the Environment Reports (every five years) Indicator update reports (Report cards)
