National Environmental Information Forum
Together with Statistics New Zealand, the Ministry for the Environment runs a National Environmental Information Forum every 6 months. The aim of the forum is to build a ‘community of interest’ in environmental monitoring and reporting across the country, by bringing together a national network of people to share technical information and best practice. The forum includes a series of presentations given by the community of interest on new environmental monitoring and reporting initiatives. The forum also runs targeted thematic workshops to ensure that there is in-depth follow-through in priority areas of discussion.
The Ministry has successfully held four forums:
- National Environmental Information Forum - 11 May 2010
- National Environmental Reporting Forum — 20 October 2009
- National Environmental Reporting Forum — 17 April 2009
- National Environmental Reporting Forum — 15 August 2008
