As Manager of Climate Change Policy, you will manage a policy team who provide advice on New Zealand’s international negotiating position on climate change and on domestic climate change issues. You will support governance for the whole of government Climate Change programme and develop advice on the overall framework and strategy for meeting New Zealand’s climate change commitments.
Given this, you will need a comprehensive track record in major strategy and policy development and ideally experience in the development of international negotiations and agreements.
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to lead and build teams. You will need to have had previous experience managing others and a strong understanding of management frameworks to support your decision making. An understanding of the machinery of Government, the policy making process and experience working across agencies and with external stakeholders is essential for this role. This role is full time and Wellington based.
