Vacancy 1207
Closing Date: End of Sunday 22 November 2009
This is a full-time fixed term role until December 2011 and is Wellington-based.
This is an exciting time to be involved in making a positive difference to New Zealand's environment and reducing our waste to improve our sustainability.
The government is committed to reducing the amount of waste through the imposition of a levy on all waste disposed of to landfill. The proceeds from the levy are distributed to territorial authorities and the newly-established waste minimisation fund to support waste minimisation activities. The Ministry for the Environment collects the levy and manages the distribution of funds.
We are looking for someone to join the Operations Directorate to establish a reporting framework and produce reports to help managers and staff track waste minimisation activity, and to make sound business decisions. In the first instance, you will be working to implement the Ministry’s new Waste Information Database.
For this role you’ll need experience in building reporting frameworks using data in a variety of systems, and ensuring operational reports provide line of sight to the Ministry’s waste goals. You will work with subject matter experts to coordinate and integrate reporting requirements. Whatever your background, you are positive, innovative, good at relationships and know how to work in a team to achieve results.
The successful applicant will be appointed as a Senior Analyst on the Ministry’s generic Senior Analyst position description, with the work assignment for Senior Analyst, Reporting.
Salary range: $76,975 to $108,899
Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
