Waste policy
Over the next year we will:
- Divert food waste from other Ministry office waste and direct to composting
- Ensure food waste disposal and recycling facilities for paper, plastics, metal etc are available on each floor of our offices
- Ensure all staff have a personal bin for recycling waste paper
- Ensure appropriate signage and education programmes are in place to support composting and recycling initiatives
- Direct cleaners, through the cleaning contract, to keep composting and recyclables separate from the waste stream and dispose of it in the appropriate places
- Direct cleaners, through the cleaning contract, to record residual waste going to landfill for our waste audit figures
- Inform staff about the waste policy and composting and recycling initiatives.
