Energy policy
Over the next year we will:
- Develop and submit to EECA an energy efficiency implementation plan, as required by our Energy Management Agreement with EECA, with the following components:
- Audit energy use of all Ministry offices
- Develop an Energy Management Plan with annual numerical targets for energy use
- Update of the Energy Management Agreement as outlined in that agreement
- Implement a system to monitor and report energy use
- Report to EECA annually on performance
- Implement a staff energy efficiency awareness and education programme
- Identify and implement practical and highly cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities or upgrades within 12 months of them being identified
- Ensure all future office upgrades and specifications for new premises meet minimum standards for energy efficiency
- Promote the energy efficiency awareness and education programme to staff.
